The snow and spring weather have provided many photographic opportunites A labour of love 07/10/2011
Today I finished a project that I had been wanting to produce for some time. The project was a tribute to my wonderful Arabian stallion Quassa who passed away on the 9th of February this year. Quassa was born at Lawrence Arabians and was the first colt, hence we referred to him as "The Boy". He was the most honest and genuine little horse that God gave life to and we were privilged to have him in our lives. As long as I am alive, I shall miss "The Boy". Check out the movie . Winter is here. 07/03/2011
June Already 06/07/2011
June is here and it is still warm. The grass is still growing and the atmosphere has been lacking the clarity of the winter's days in previous years. It has been quite challenging to take good photographs. Below is a shot of the Waitaki river as it continues to cut into the south bank, taking away valuable farm land and all the while edging closer to our own property. Serendipity 03/11/2011
While walking through the farm the other day I noticed a curious thing. Mushrooms growing oo/in the bark of Lombardy poplars A Worthy Cause 03/10/2011
Like most people, I have been truly saddened by the devastin earthquake in Christchurch and it is good to be able to help in any way possible. The Mane Focus Studio has joined others and donated to the online auction organised by Barbara Poulter of Masada Park Arabians. Many years ago I was commissioned to paint a famous harness horse called One Over Kenny. The people who comissioned me were thrilled with the picture. However, time gallops on, on in this case, paces on, and circumstance change. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. The Second Month. 02/01/2011
Well we are into the second month of 2011 and I am still trying to find time to do something artistic. Just a few snaps is all I have managed to take. The first week of 2011 01/04/2011
Being at home for the Christmas New Year period has given me time to catch up on a number of things around here. One picture that I have had on the go for a couple of weeks now is being worked on. RUFFLES is one of my favourite roses and I decided to give myself a spell from horses and try a new subject. I am working in oils and I always find oils such a challenge. Also had time to take some photos of my dearest stallion Quassa. I tried for something less conventional. |
